Setting up your zoo: Parks, Areas, Delivery Locations

Parks are physically separate locations that might generate separate vendor orders and keep separate inventory.

Areas are the "political" divisions within a park (departments, curatorial areas, etc.).

Delivery Locations are the animal areas that diets are prepared for. For example, the "giraffe barn" or "nocturnal house".


These are hierarchies. Parks contain areas. Areas contain Delivery Locations.

Here is an example of how this might work for a sample zoo with one offsite location:

  • Park: A Great Zoo
    • Area: Bird Team
      • Delivery: Aviary 1
      • Delivery: Aviary 2
      • Delivery: Breeding center
      • Delivery: Penguin house
      • Delivery: Flamingo lake
    • Area: Primate Team
      • Delivery: Chimpanzees
      • Delivery: Gorillas and colobus
      • Delivery: Small Primate barn
    • Area: Hoofstock Team
      • Delivery: Barn 1
      • Delivery: Barn 2
    • Area: Farm Team
      • Delivery: Petting Zoo
  • Park: Offsite Rescue Facility
    • Area: Unicorn Rescue Center
      • Delivery: Hospitalized Unicorns
      • Delivery: Unicorn stalls
    • Area: Small Animal Rescue
      • Delivery: Waterfowl pools
      • Delivery: Small mammal pens
      • Delivery: Herp House
