What does ZDN expect of YOU?
Fundamentally, ZDN is free to download and use. You can also modify it and redistribute it if you so choose.
However, one of the ways that ZDN really shines is that it is part of a community of zoo nutrition professionals around the world working in institutions large and small, from specialized rehab facilities to large global zoo networks. This allows the connection of many people who might not otherwise meet at conferences.
As you use and modify ZDN, you might make changes that you think others would find useful. We encourage you to share back with the community.
As you use ZDN, you might think of ideas about what would make it better or (gasp!) find a bug or two! Please share these with the community and don't just assume that you have made a mistake.
As a user of ZDN, I strongly encourage you to "give back" to this free resource by donating 30 minutes each month of your valuable time. Things that need help are:
- Translating the documentation (this documentation!) into other languages. Even if you don't speak another language, just getting pages ready to translate is a big help!
- Translating the software itself into other languages.
- Asking questions on the Facebook and WhatsApp forums. If you have a question, very likely others do too!
- Answering questions on the Facebook and https://chat.whatsapp.com/EJlHrI4Xf5f8m0Horz5nZAforums. There are enough users now that support doesn't all have to come from Heidi. Please help each other!
- Report bugs - it is quite possible that problems are not something you did, but something I did. But I can't fix them if I don't know about them.
- Suggest features! The best ideas come from users like you!
How much time?
- If you could donate one hour every two months to one of the projects linked above, we could make a lot of progress!
