Translation on WikiMedia requires two steps, which can be done by different people:
1. Add translation features to a page
- Prepare a page for translation
- Create a user account (upper right corner)
- Identify a page that needs to be set up
- Go to Prepare a Page for Translation
- Click "Prepare"
- Mark "chunks" of text on the page for translation
- Go to the page you just set up
- Click the link to "Mark this page for translation" at the top
- Confirm "Mark this page for translation" at the bottom
- Bonus step - add a parrot emoji to the main page to identify your articles so others can start translating.
2. Translate the pages
- Visit the Special:PageTranslation to select your page and start translating.
