Prepping diets from labels (usually in conjunction with paper books or the touchscreen) is a great way to ensure that every diet is labelled appropriately and gets a current date on it as well.
To print daily labels, go to Labels & Recipes > Print Labels
- Diet labels = 1 label per diet. This is commonly used for herbivore diets, where a diet has multiple ingredients placed in a container (bag, bin) together. You get a label for the aardvark, a label for the zebra, etc.
- Ingredient labels = this is the equivalent of "assembly prep" on the touchscreen. This is commonly used for meat and seafood diets. In this case, you get labels for each food separately, grouped by food category and thten by diet item. So, for example, you might prep all the rodents across many diets at the same time (mice for the snake, mice for the owl, etc.) and then all the fish (capelin for the dolphin, capelin for the sea lion, capelin for the pelicans). At the end, you'll need to combine the various diet items into complete diets for each animal.
Note for A4 paper size users - the labels currently technically convert to A4, but that doesn't mean they'll line up correctly with A4 label paper. This needs work. If you want to help me work on this, let me know!
