Translation on WikiMedia requires two steps, which can be done by different people:

1. Add translation features to a page

  • Prepare a page for translation
    1. Create a user account (upper right corner)
    2. Identify a page that needs to be set up
    3. Go to Prepare a Page for Translation
    4. Click "Prepare"
  • Mark "chunks" of text on the page for translation
    1. Go to the page you just set up
    2. Click the link to "Mark this page for translation" at the top
    3. Confirm "Mark this page for translation" at the bottom
  • Bonus step - add a parrot emoji to the main page to identify your articles so others can start translating.
